After a long, successful nursing career, I finally had time to focus on art and fell in love with the gourd-Mother Nature's canvas. Through the selection & cleaning process, each process gourd begins to reveal its own story, and from this intimate connection, something beautiful emerges.
Working with gourds is slow and intentional. Each one arrives with its own imperfections, marks and history. Birds, cats, vessels & whimsical creatures emerge, inspired by nature and the quiet joy found in something as simple as a gourd.
Nursing taught me patience, compassion, & how to truly see others-lessons that now shapes my art. I am drawn to transformation and resilience, and my work reflects the belief that beauty is not about perfection, but about becoming.
